The jujube Unab, is a fruit that grows on the jujube tree (Ziziphus jujuba), native to Asia.
When dried, jujubes become dark brown, wrinkled, and chewy, tasting much sweeter—close to dates, which is why they are often called Chinese dates (though they are not true dates). Jujubes are widely used in Chinese cooking, teas, and soups, and they are also eaten as snacks.
Inside each jujube fruit there is one hard, oval-shaped seed (stone). The edible part is the flesh around the seed.
